14 Free Pyjama Sewing Patterns for Making Cosy Sleepwear

14 Free Pyjama Sewing Patterns for Making Cosy Sleepwear

I love sewing pyjamas. The first garment I ever made was a pair of elasticated pyjama shorts and since then, I’ve created several variations for myself and loved ones. One of the reasons I love sewing pyjamas so much is that they’re low-stakes projects (at least to me). You’re going to sleep in them, so there’s less pressure for everything to turn out perfect. Plus, most pyjama patterns are designed with lots of ease. This makes the fitting process much less stressful. In honour of my love for sewing sleepwear, I’ve compiled a list of free pyjama sewing patterns*, some of which I’ve sewn multiple times. These sleepwear patterns include pants, sets, tanks, robes, and outer layers.

* Most patterns on this list are specifically designed as pyjamas; the tops are casualwear which are just as good for sleeping in.

Free Robe Sewing Patterns

Robes are perfect for layering over pyjamas to provide warmth or added coverage when your sleepwear feels too revealing (answering the doorbell, picking up a package, when you have guests over, or when visiting others etc.).
