15 Free Panties Patterns You’ll Want to Sew Right Now

This blog post is a collection of 15 free panties sewing patterns, including high-waisted briefs, thongs, bikini styles, and even a pair of period panties. I’ve sewn some of these for myself and loved ones. Whatever your sewing level or style preference, I hope you’ll find a pattern to sew.

2. Aurore Thong by Lizzie Patterns

The Aurore Thong is a gorgeous romantic take on the classic thong. It’s quite unique as it is the only free pattern on this blog post that uses woven fabric.
There’s no hashtag for this pattern on Instagram, so make yours and share it on Instagram, I know I will soon.

3. Lacey Thong Panties by FehrTrade

The pattern includes 4 sizes, finished widths ranging from 74.4–98.4 cm (29 1/4″–38 3/4″) at half hip level.

4. The Acacia underwear sewing pattern by Megan Nielsen

The Acacia underwear sewing pattern is a low-rise bikini style and is easily one of the most recommended free panty patterns out there.

Here’s how to actually get your hands on the free pattern (you may have encountered lots of dead links online).

The Acacia pattern is listed as a paid product on the Megan Nielsen website, but you can still get it for free by signing up for their newsletter. Go to the product page for the version you want:

Scroll down until you see the section that says “Sign up to our newsletter,” just before the product reviews. This link will take you to a sign-up form. Enter just your email and first name and sign up. You’ll receive a welcome email with a discount code that you can use at checkout to download the Acacia pattern for free.

There are two size groups:
Misses: hip measurements from 86–117 cm (34″–46″)
Curvy: hip measurements from 112–147 cm (44″–58″)

12. Cheeky Lace Panties by So Sew Easy

This is a pattern I’ve made before and I loved how easy it is to assemble. There is no need for elastic as it is shaped such that the lace edge forms the waist and leg openings.

This pattern is offered in one size only (Small/Medium). It might be possible to grade it up or down.

15. Cheeky Revolution Panties by Seen & Sewn Patterns

The Cheeky Revolution Panties are a great pattern if you don’t want to apply elastic. to the leg and waist openings.

The pattern includes 7 sizes, but there’s no standard size chart. The designer based the grading on Victoria’s Secret sizing, so it may be best to compare the pattern pieces to existing underwear or try a test version first.
